Born in Nicosia, Cyprus, Michael Bisping grew up in East Yorkshire in the UK. He began training in jiujitsu when he was eight years old. Starting at age 15, he began to compete as amateur all over the UK.
When he was eighteen, he shifted his focus to kickboxing, going on to win the Pro British Light Heavyweight Kickboxing Championship twice.
